This article is about the recent results of the probe on Youth Challenge, a charity which helps in dealing with teenagers and helping them stay out of trouble. The results where published the day before, 24/1. The results were damning. The charity chief had earned more than half of what the charity had raised during last year. The amount, $248,867, was paid to Vincent Lam, who quit on Monday, last year, amounting to $20,738 per month. This will lead to more mistrust for charities, as it follows the NKF case last year.

This article has left me rather shell shocked. I have participated in some Youth Challenge's activites, more recently last year. Therefore i feel cheated, as the money i paid had found its way into someone's pocket. This event occurs even as the NKF trial is ongoing. Is this not evolving into a vicious cycle, as one charity after another plunges into darkness for a mishandling of funds? Should people not be given an assurance as to where their money ends up after their donations?

The government, i feel, is a little late in dealing with this matter. the government takes notice only after the wrong has been done for a very long time, should it not be taken care of before it happens? However, the government has done a remarkable job in dealing out the punishments for those in the wrong.

The government dealt with the NKF case effectively and efficiently. Thus, no doubt this case will be dealt with equally or even more efficiently.

However, this is a serious problem the government is facing, and must tackle the root of the problem, not just treating the symptoms as they appear.

The government requests for charities to be more trnsparent in their management of funds. This i feel is a good measure by the government to curb the mismanagement of funds, tackling the root and the symptoms of the problem.

The way in which the NKF and now Youth Challenge is to be dealt with will be pivotal in serving as a reminder to other charities, that none is above the law. If you try to flaunt the law, the law will catch up with you. That is the message the government needs to send to other charities. If these two cases are not dealt with properly, Singapore faces a serious problem, as other charities will feel that one can get away with it and thus few will be willing to contribute to these charities or any charity organisation. Needless to say, it is the needy who will suffer. Thus to treat the problem, these two charities must be dealt with severely.

Therefore, the government faces an uphill task if people do not learn from the mistakes of these charity organisations. this is not a problem which the government needs to tackle, charity organisations also need to uphold their own integrity and handle funds appropriately.

haha, so long nva come le, my hotmail inbox got 375 new msgs, most of which r junk mail.those not junk can be counted wif just one hand.so its juz delete, delete, delete.waste of my precious time

sch's boring.so sian lor, been not doing well 4 quite a few tests, haven got a single distinction, quite a number of failures. but nvm la, dis CA my results sure suck.

2.4 in 5 days, been abstaining frm gassy drinks 4 quite some time, hope i can get first, but its a little tough, juz a little.damn sian of wad i m doing, someone give mi a break of fresh air!!! please...

oh ya i got first in 400m B Boys.one out of da three medals that BB got, all gold btw.( and all frm 3A.we rock da world!!!)

yup..juz came back frm 2 consecutive camps...slp reaaaaaaaaaaaaaal 'good' in both(watching da world cup in church camp & juz slping very late and waking up very early in LDC204)but still, i enjoyed myself so its not much of a problem 2 me.

church camp was superrrrrrr!!!though da msg didnt really speak 2 me, da fellowship was great!!u noe juz hanging out wif shawn, actro,rachel,anna,jeremy&samantha.manzz they're realli nice ppl 2 hang out wif! enjoyed da church camp...would'nt b da same wifout u guys,playing '99',watch ppl whack each other on tv..(no la not wrestling,we were watching rugby),even watching cartoons(smth i haven done in a very long time) i really enjoyed my time there,hope this kind of friendship can continue...maybe we could try 2 play bball 2gether more often?(oh yea, sorry i wasnt able 2 attend da recent bball sessions,i try 2 join u'all more often k?)yep had a real goood time.

when we arrived at harbourfront, there were so few ppl there, but slowly da ppl started coming n it was soo packed!at da ferry,a few of us tried playing 99,though da winds on da ferry were super strong.cards started flying but jude kept saying dat we shd continue cos it very fun,challenging.so wad da heck!juz continued to play.we held on 2 our cards tightly and da pile where u put down cards and da other pile where u draw cards were held down by ashley's wallet(brilliant move ash...)we played 4 awhile and did quite ok,lyk killing ppl wif my power cards.then my losing streak started... i lost three times in a row!!den there was da forfeit,however it was juz mainly shouting wadever they asked mi to shout,lyk"i love jude" or smth(no wait...that was ashley's forfeit, but its along da same line)den i was lyk "i dun want 2 play liao".den i joined anna and jeremy and the others standing there and enjoying da wind.den we went on da bus quite high,though i m not too sure why,but the seven of us 'conquered' da back seats,and guess wat? we played 99!we played last man standing.so da first round i continued my losing streak by being da first one out.den my winning streak started i was da last man standing in da nxt 2 rounds.by then,me, actro and jeremy formed the 'alliance'.we helped each other outin times of need and killed others lyk water(ok maybe not)but the members of the'alliance' kept winning until da others ganged up against us.we died lyk bacteria at boiling pt.

b4 lunch,food was passed ard.i was sitting da da back row.rachel was in front of mi and shawn was in front of her. we played da cards at da temporary seat in between rachel and anna.mi and shawn happened 2 lyk a certain chilli tapioca chips.so i moved bside rachel so i can share da chips with shawn and still play da game. we went 4 lunch and oso went 4 shpping at a super lousy shpping centre(compared with s'pore)it actually had a blackout!!!den when we returned 2 da busi didnt feel lyk playing anymore,wanted 2 slack or slp or just rest. i first sat bside shawn den shawn and i were too big 2 sit bside each other(no space)so i returned 2 da back row with more space.but i couldnt slp!i felt weird,dun really lyk da back row.so guess wad?i moved back 2 bside rachel.and i fell in love with da sit.rachel gave mi lotsa space(helps when u r small sized,no offence--its a compliment)and didnt feel giddy or wadsoever.but still i didnt slp.cos shawn was telling jokes and i was captivated.

nth much happened da first dae xcept 4 da s'goon youth being label as da 'incenerators'(by ourselves of course)at dinner.wad do u xpect?u put a bunch of fast growing teenagers 2gether and give them not enuf 2 go ard,of course they will finish off ur leftovers.bet da restaraunt will nt accept us back if we were still gonna eat lyk that,by da end of da dae,they will b bankrupt.

da nxt dae was more eventful i might say.after morning service we wanted 2 find a bball court.but it was raining.so we went 2 da gym and enjoyed ourselves.i ran super slow,2km in lyk 14 mins,but nt entirely my fault.da machine started super slow,nt 2 my pace.yea den i was given an xtra room 2 share with shawn cos they didnt hav anymore xtra beds.so i moved out of da couch i stayed in with my parents,marcus and my bro, and moved in 2 a room with shawn.

played soccer on da sand pit da nxt dae,had a great time.scored a lota goals at da start and den struggled 2 find my form afterwards.after i scored alota goals zach and da others started calling mi 'tyco',cos it sounds a bit lyk my name,u noe 'titus' da starting sounds lyk 'tyco'?nvm,i oso dun get it.

da last nite, i stayed up playing cards, watching tv with da gang in my room(or shawn's room--we nva agreed on whose room it was),den one by they went 2 slp.sam and i went 2 get pillows and blankets frm her room cos my room didnt hav enuf.soon i was da onli one left enjoying da wee hours of my bdae,watching germany, juz by a hair,beat poland.by den i let poor anna slp on my bed cos b4 dat she was slping on da floor.(when she woke up, she didnt even noe why she on da bed)den after da match i decided 2 slp cos i was getting tired.i slpt on da carpet with onli a blanket(anna went straight onto my bed b4 i had a chance 2 take my pillow,onli had time 4 da blanket)but i still slpt quite well. i woke up early 2 bath and by da time i got out most of them were awake, so we went 4 breakfast 2gether.

on da ferry back, we took da indoor seats.den most of us felt seasick.but b4 that, we were munchin on goodies lyk it was none of our buisness.(they were very nice!!)

dats mainly about all 4 da church camp.

LDC was quite enjoyable,was more relaxed then i xpected.bbq was fun, esp when u r one of da main cooks.i dun tink i will write anymore cause i will bore u out(written alot alrdy)and my hands r starting 2 feel strained. so enjoy da rest of ur holidaes!!:D

yup i'm back...wasnt as fun as last yr,but oso can la...

hmm i tink i m super lucky 2 hav melissa as my angel,she gave mi soooo many sweets and stuff dat i was super surprised...at da last dae when i finally went 2 da place where they put da stuff!i was lyk wow!!!but nonetheless i did giv my mortal smth, yup smth dat was out of my own pocket.btw my mortal was ysabel...i picked her three times lor...da first two not allowed cos someone picked his/her own name.den i tot i cant possibaly get her name again when i was given da paper.but i got her sooo many times dat i recognised da paper frm da outside.

we(da guys in my group) bathed b4 we slp and after we woke up,at da library toilet of course.den in da morning we would sit outside da library and play cards,which would of course make us late 4 breakfast,makin our group ldr super pissed,he was on da verge of bursting out at us.so sorry i didnt mean 2 make u pissed, u r a great ldr...trust mi.oh yeah den we always seem 2 b late for all our meals..dunno why but its lidat,cant help it.

we(da entire group) oso earned a nickname (yong bu yan bai)during da camp,meaning nva say die.cos during da camp we were doing a game station dat was super hard 2 pass.as a team,meaning can use different ppl 4 each part, we were supposed 2do 15 push-ups,run 4 widths of da bball court,den hit a tennis ball into a dustpan about 50cm away using an umbrella(1 try), den kicka soccer ball and hitting da bball post(oso 1 try),score a bball free-throw(oso 1 try),within 100 secs and if that was not enuf,it had 2 b consecutive,missing da dustpan,da bball post,or da free-throw would result in restarting da entire thing,joining back da queue and waiting 4 ur turn.because we stayed there despite having 2 try many many times b4 succeeding, da station master named us 'yong bu yan bai',thus resulting in da nick name.for da record,we were da first team 2 complete da station,using 18 tries b4 succeeding.

oh yeah den da 'tian cai zhi ye' we performed a skit bout one guy(me) whu frm a loser became a winner after finding a pair of shoes.ya we were supposed 2 do a sports shoe commercial and typically we chose soccer shoes.da story line was quite dumb and our group made a 'shoe' out of two tissue boxes(i tink we can hang it up on da class notice board or smth).guess how we did da tricks?qing nian ge is a genius,he tot of poking da soccer ball wif a bbq stick,at da place 2 pump da ball den used da stick 2 move da ball ard 2 make me look lyk i was 10 times better than ronaldhino(no offence, u r da best but i not supporting brazil at da world cup,though u hav da greatest player,currently, on earth)cool rite?den we won best special effects award 4 that.

yup den on da last nite we were playing soccer at da parade square,den victor was lyk "hey u'all wanna go simpang bedok eat prata?"den we found ourselves playing "street" soccer, cos there were no cars ,we were super high,i tink cos its da euphoria of leaving da camp and b free 2 do wad we want.we did push-ups on da road,sit-ups too,we ran on da road imaginating we were cars,super high!!!den victor dat idiot went 2 kick da ball into a construction site,den i went in 2 take da ball,making my shoe dirty..den we went back scared that we will kena caught, but when we got back, no one gave a damn bout us, scared 4 nth.

ya and i shall nt embarrass yi qian or victor by saying wad they did(or did nt do) during da camp

here it goes... da marathon of things to do during da holidaes.oh man, starting tmr my life will b packed, and i mean PACKED,wif da bold and colour and everything.ok yar i got camps almost in consecutive succesion and various activities occuring just bout every day.talking about 'life sux'...

nvm, i shall nt bore u ppl reading my blog wif boring details about my life.(actually i tink dats wad a blog is used 4,boring bored ppl)

anw i actually started on my holidae hw!!: O surprise surprise!!!yup but its true.i chose and started reading da book 4 da eng book review! 'clap' 'clap' 'clap' yup i actually went 2 da library and chose smth by John Grisham or some guy whose name looks lyk dat.i cant rmb da title but its about american football and i dun get y someone would want 2 write smth in dat format, i m about slightly more than one quater through da book and i m still nt clear about wads da purpose of reading dat book.but i tink i m gonna use dis book anw if tan-y tan-yallows da book. bt if i m nt wrong books by dat author is allowed. yar.

oh yeah dat time i write bout da movie but i dunno wads da name .den now i noe wads it called.its called'the shawshank redemption'. it is suuuuuuuper nice .great show 2 watch. just dat da actors are mainly unknown or lesser known actors, xcept 4 dat 'freeman' guy(tink i dun hav a knack 4 remembering names).ya but still its a superb show 2 watch.u got time den try asking tan-y tan-y 2 lend u da movie or smth.i dun tink i shd spoil da show 4 u but i really didnt xpect da ending 2 b lidat.i see den stun, was lyk walau dis guy bloody clever man.great show, i'd give about 4-5 stars ya.

hey! long time no blog. now da mye is over liao.yess but i tink i gonna flunk quite alot of subjects... heck la oso nva study so it's expected la.at least a-math i can get A1 or A2, hope its A1 ya.

walau da sch got smth wrong lor... marking dae oso dun give someone so bloody stingy.make everyone in da sch suffer one xtra dae of sch.(hey! i'm not pointing fingers hor!)hai den waste a perfectly gd dae in sch.sian. anw we go sch oso do nth lor, watch 2 movies, go 2 da library cannot borrow books,listen 2 da tcher tok cock, might as well sleep at hm more productive of my time.hai, da first movie 'finding neverland' is a NEVER-watch no matter wad u feeling lyk, even if u 1 2 use it 2 go 2 sleep oso nva use dis movie.damn bloody sian!! watch until got headache.dunno wad kind of idiot oso wan 2 make dis movie lor. i'd sleep directing it.oh man it sux juz tinking bout it.da other movie much much better.but i 4got wad's da name of da movie. but its bout da life in prison but haven watch finish yet so ya it might be better than wad i've seen... but da show is so full of

shuang i nva play soccer 4 lyk a few weeks den yesterdae vesak dae go play den so shiok! actually yesterdae didnt plan 2 play soccer but play basketball but den got ppl go basketball court 2 play soccer(oso dunno why dun go soccer court)den we play wif them lor.i wont say not fun but not da best i've played.scored 2 goals so quite happy.but a bit too hot 2 play la, or nva bring water...play until my sweat dry up...but thx 2 da guys whu played wif us, they brought cold water in those cooler thingy. ya den we drank quite alot so we owe them one.but oso dunno how 2 repay them...haha guess wad happen as well? soonhui went 2 fall on his leg den kena injured den bring him to 85 take lyk 1hr, when it usually takes lyk 15 mins... soonhui owes us big time especially zhong da.damn funny, zhong da carry him up da overhead bridge den after carry up one flight of steps den still got 1 more flight den zhong da was lyk "lai, liang bu liang bu zhou"den he went two steps up,but soon hui too heavy,den zhong da fell down!!damn funny!!i tink eddie got pics of them. ya muz ask him 2 show u or smth.den soon hui damn idiot, after eating 1 2 go play soccer again...

i wonder, its been so long since i last blogged. and there are still ppl whu bother 2 come(but of course when they realise i've not been blogging they dont come--see da gap in my tags,look @ da date u doofus!)yep i braved all tough weathers, defied advice frm ppl older and more experienced than mi and i went 4 da camp, all despite da fact tt i was nursing a very bad bout of flu, wif fevers of up to 39.7 da nite before(dang , i tink i won da most idiots award 4 doing dat)

anyway back 2 da camp.wait, i dun remember much bout da camp
i remember i was sick but i still went.
i remember i became ill on da campfire.

Hmm, da topic--Most relationships involve love or hate. Sometimes both. Today's entry: Write something about how you relate to your new class 3A. Love it or hate it? Or a little of both?

3A--a class dat is noisy, nva really serious bout things dat they do(or maybe its juz mi).

i would b lying if i said that i luv dis class wif all my being,all dae every single atom in my body longs 2 b wif da class(ok mayb its a bit too err far fetched) or that i hate my class totally, every single atom of my body longs 2 slaughter my entire class(ok fine its still too far fetched)

Am i becoming more err, how do i place it? Irritating? Yep probably dats da word... but i dun really care watsoever so if u find mi irritating, u can 4give mi or juz get on wif ur life(anyway those are da 2 options dat u'll probably take) i apologise if i had irritated u but most likely i'll do it again.

Yep dat was a bloody waste of time but heck--time is all dat we hav in da world(most ppl wont agree wif mi but 2 mi it is) err u shouldnt be wasting all ur precious time on a dumb blog lyk mine. but if u hav a heck load of time 2 spare or got nth better 2 do, u can go ahead and read dis blog. i seriously dun care.

believe mi--army food rations are one of da best foods dat i hav eaten dis week. they are deeelicious. fine go ahead, dun trust wat ur TRUSTWORTHY friend says.but u should try it one day. (s'pore guy citizens reading dis out there-- u'll hav 2 eat it, lyk it or not. so u better start lyking it now)

if u had not already knew, my sch had army rations 2 "celebrate" total defence dae.most ppl shunned away frm juz da tot of eating army food. but those whu noe mi, i stuff large quantities of things which are digusting 2 u.(and i eat in undesirable conditions--eating breakfast when ppl r vomiting etc.) and i juz tot i'll add another variety of food dat i hav eaten. but it turns out i lyk it.

den i made da mistake of lyking it too much.i ate lyk dunno how many packs of ration(2 ppl are supposed to share 1 pack--yep no kidding, i ate at least 3 packs) and i found out dat da rations giv lots of energy. and i was hyper 4 da next lesson(which da techer didnt come) so u can guess wat i was capable of doing.

those whu hav read till here, u deserve a round of applause for da courage and perserverance dat u hav displayed 4 reading my blog 4 so long. God bless and ... ...heck juz stop reading further.

Week b4 da cny i was flooded wif test--i made a clever desicion 2 not study any of da tests.......
da amout of tests is lyk da christmas and new year period 4 da epl clubs, hectic.

but guess wat? i onli fail 1 of da tests. and da one i failed is one of da better ones of da guys sitting @ da back--10.5/25 for geog! da others got lyk 5-9.5 and i got 10.5! amazing! and i wrote lyk so little....

anyway i got 26.5/50 for HIGHER chi(surprise surprise!), 26.5/40 for chem(surprise surprise! i onli lost 2 hanting among da guys), and 17/20 for amaths(i dun tink i m too surprised, second in class,first among guys) ha ha, i scraped through wif 3 wins and 1 loss!( ha and without practice! i m a genius)

oh ya i change place and now am sitting close 2 da front-left of da class......not too bad--closer to da other guys and closer 2 da door.

yep my 2006 is getting better......

its a show about some human genome thingy--about how in da future u can manupilate da human genes into such u become a 'perfect' person,wif all da illnesses all removed and u become perfect dat when u grow old u dun hav 2 worry about all da sickness dat sin brought into da world.

i tink we shd b paying 4 wat we hav done--sinned

but heck, i dun tink its possible 2 do such a thing so i dun tink i can relate 2 da film, maybe dats da reason why i didnt reali lyk da show...

yesterdae 2e'05 class outing was ok, but so few ppl go, veri sian.....next time more ppl go can?

da year has been like shit--sux to da core

i tink da only good thing that happened to mi was i was promoted. dats all

i hav been trying 2 do da chi holidae hw. but da darn software is so bloody hard 2 get! i try downloading everthing frm da site but dunno why cannot work. teacher extend to mon but wat's da bloody use? i even got a book and read it( although it's in dual-language eng and chi and i only read da eng part, but it's still counted dat i read it, rite?) but 2006 is trying to make mi pissed and nva give mi da software to type chi. so i CANNOT DO! its so darn IRRITATING!!!

if da yr gets any worse......darn i cant fast forward da yr, oh man dis yr seriously sux.

Tuesdae, Not feeling too well

dang, yesterdae got caught in the rain...now got flu i tink.
sian.the chi holidae hw haven started 2 do--haven even read da book yet
den muz finish by fri. and now den i noe dat my com dun hav hans, cannot do da hw

last nite got chi tuition, da teacher got lost, came half an hour late,@ 8 pm. den end @ 10pm.
throughout da tuition my nose was like dripping all over da place. but good also that i was sick--she say i didnt hav 2 read da book out loud, she say because i was sick den let mi off:] next time i try to be sick again(but not veri nice being sick)

mr tan wants dunno how many words so i juz keep writing about nth...

crap! i still got so many hw haven do... at least i m completing one rite now so thats one hw finished. but still got da chi book thingy haven do yet. den still hav da chi tuition hw. i noe it does not sound like alot but it's chi, for dunno who's sake!
